Hey Don,

Having an argument with friends? re George Shearing, who I think was great. She is insisting that he was still alive. I explained that he passed away man/several years ago? He was born in 1919. Can't still be alive---on purpose!!. Spoke to the Munchkin in Las Gatos CA yesterday

Much love,

Merv

Don,
Sorry to post this here - I'm just writing to see that you received Jackie Allen's new CD, Starry Night Live with the Muncie Symphony featuring arrangements written for Jackie by long time friends who happen to be amazing arrangers including John Clayton, Bill Cunliffe, Matt Harris, Frank Proto etc. We thought you would dig the creative takes from the American Songbook.

We had suggested:
If You Never Come to Me - Jackie's first foray into Portuguese - a Jobim standard
Star Eyes - John Clayton's adventurous chart with extended phrases and counterpoint
When In Rome - a sassy take on the original ("text" you snappily)
You Must Believe In Spring - a "Johnny Mandel" Latin version of the classic ballad

As you have a moment I would love any feedback. We be tickled to learn that you were digging a track! Please email me as you have time.

best,
Hans
